These air-fried Jalapeño Poppers will surely win hearts and applaud stands-crispy and golden brown on the outside, cool creamy Cheddar on the inside, and anything-but-bland spiciness. They're perfect for game nights, parties, or just whenever one has cravings for a spicy snack-the healthier way!

Preparation time: 10 minutes

Cooking time: 8 to 10 minutes

Yield: 10 popcorns

Ingredients :

5 large jalapeño peppers, halved and seeded

        4 oz (115 g) cream cheese, softened

½ cup shredded cheddar cheese (pepper jack, for an extra kick)

        ¼ tsp garlic powder

        ¼ tsp smoked paprika

Salt & black pepper, to taste

½ cup bread crumbs; Panko for extra crunch

Cooking spray or drizzle of olive oil

Optional Add-ins:

Crispy bits of bacon to be sprinkled on top

A touch of lime juice to brighten it up

Instructions:

1.      Prepare the Jalapeños:

Cut the jalapeños in half from stem to tip and scrape out the seeds and white membranes (wear gloves if necessary).

2.      Prepare the Filling:

Mix in a small bowl the cream cheese, shredded cheddar cheese, garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper until well blended.

3.      Fill, Press, and Coat:

Spoon the mixture into each half of the jalapeño. Lightly press the tops with Panko breadcrumbs for a crunchy coating.

4.      Air Fry:

Air fry at 190ºC (375ºF). Place the jalapeños in a single layer, giving them space in between (avoid overcrowding).

Fry until the cheese melts and the tops become golden, for approximately 8-10 minutes.

5.      Serve:

Let them cool for a few minutes. Top with bacon bits or fresh herbs.

Serve for balance with ranch dressing or a cool yogurt dip.

Tips for Making Perfect Air Fryer Jalapeño Poppers:

Freeze filled jalapeños for 15 minutes before air-frying for clean and crispy results.

Use parchment liners or a non-stick air fryer tray to prevent sticking.

To lighten up the recipe, substitute cream cheese for Greek yogurt.
